B.S. Social Work, Arizona State University
Communications Consultant, DMB Community Life
Whether Jennifer McSweeney is interacting with her next-door neighbors or traveling the world, she is naturally building communities through the development of heartfelt, genuine relationships at every turn. Jen’s passion for finding people’s passion and skillsets has allowed her to inspire and engage diverse individuals from all walks of life in coordinated efforts to elevate organizations across sectors. Having lived or worked in all corners of the Phoenix-Metro area, Jen has built a vast network of personal and business relationships that transcend business, nonprofit and community lines.
An Arizona native born and raised in Mesa, Jen went on to graduate from Arizona State University Tempe with a degree in Social Work. She and her high school sweetheart married and settled into their new “hometown” – the Marley Park™ community in Surprise. This dynamic duo (that became a trio with the birth of their son) found joy in blurring the lines between live, work and play. As a caring and passionate resident, Jen served as a founding and influential leader of several community programs, including Marley Park Leadership, Neighborhood Welcome committee, Community Cares committee and Events committee. Jen’s impact reached further throughout the west as she contributed her advocacy and fundraising skills with the West Valley Arts Council board of directors serving from 2012-2015, running the membership program and signature events at WESTMARC and executing large scale events for thousands of people in the Verrado® community– all powerhouses in their respective industries. Today she oversees communication and marketing for multiple DMB Community Life projects across the valley. Simply put: Jen uses her creativity and passion to make change happen.
While she and her family now call central Phoenix “home,” she is literally running around the world as she competes against the clock over 13.1-mile-long courses. You’ll likely find Jen exploring local and international cultures from the tallest mountain tops, amid breathtaking scenery, breaking bread around a dining table, or within quaint boutiques.
Having a legacy of connecting people through the verbal and written word, including interest in someday mastering the Spanish language, Jen invites you to join her as she synergies her experiences and shares her passion to serve within her latest community of influence: ELLA.
